NineX19 Vapor Ported Barrel & Slide Combo for Glock 17 Gen 5

The NineX19 Vapor Ported Slide & Barrel is a matched recoil-management system designed for factory OEM Glock 17 Gen 5 frames. Precisely aligned ports in the slide and barrel redirect expanding gases upward to reduce muzzle rise and help the pistol return to target faster between shots.

Unlike a thread-on compensator, the Vapor system integrates the porting directly into the Slide & Barrel. This maintains a Glock 17-length exterior profile without adding a muzzle device beyond the front of the slide.

The Vapor slide is machined from 17-4 stainless steel and features aggressive rear serrations, weight-reducing windows, and an RMR-pattern optic cut. The matched barrel is machined from 416R stainless steel with a deep target crown and ports positioned specifically for the Vapor slide.

This product includes a stripped slide and matched ported barrel. Internal slide components, recoil spring assembly, sights, and optic are not included.

Matched Vapor Porting

The locations and dimensions of the barrel ports are matched to the openings in the Vapor slide. This gives expanding gases a clear path out of the upper assembly while directing them away from the shooter’s primary sight line.

The slide and barrel are designed to function as a system. Do not install the Vapor ported barrel beneath a solid, non-ported slide or substitute a differently ported barrel.

Combat Cut Sight Configuration

The Vapor slide uses NineX19’s Combat Cut sight configuration, which places the rear sight in front of the optic. This provides a less obstructed view through the rear of the optic window while retaining functional backup iron sights.

The slide is intended to use a red dot as its primary sighting system. Because of the Combat Cut configuration, NineX19 does not manufacture or include an optic cover plate for this slide.

Optic Compatibility

The Vapor slide uses an RMR-pattern optic cut designed for standard-size RMR-footprint optics. Compatible options include the Trijicon RMR, Holosun 507C, Holosun 508T, and Holosun 507 Comp.

The Trijicon SRO, Trijicon RMR HD, Swampfox Justice, and C&H Comp are not compatible with the Vapor slide because their forward-projecting housings interfere with the ported area of the slide.

Smaller Holosun K-series and RMSc-footprint optics do not directly fit the RMR-pattern cut. Closed-emitter optics may require an RMR-compatible adapter plate, which raises the optic above the slide.

• Solid, non-ported barrels used beneath the Vapor port openings
• Ported barrels from other manufacturers unless specifically confirmed for the Vapor port geometry
• Optics with housings that extend forward over the Vapor porting area

Can This Slide Be Used on a Glock 47 Frame?

A Glock 17 Gen 5 slide is not a direct complete-upper replacement for a factory Glock 47 configuration. The Glock 47 uses a Glock 19-length recoil spring assembly and a slide designed around that shorter recoil system. Running a Glock 17 slide on a Glock 47 frame requires the correct recoil-system conversion components.

Ported Slide & Barrel Versus a Compensator

A thread-on compensator requires a threaded barrel and adds length beyond the front of the slide. The Vapor system integrates the recoil-management ports into the Slide & Barrel, preserving a Glock 17-length exterior profile and reducing potential holster-fit complications associated with an extended compensator.

Both systems use expanding gases to counter muzzle rise. The primary differences are overall length, mounting method, maintenance, and holster compatibility.

Installation and Function Testing

The Vapor Slide & Barrel is designed for use with compatible Glock 17 Gen 5 components. Installation should be completed by someone familiar with Glock-pattern upper assemblies.

After assembly, inspect the pistol for proper fit and operation. Safely function-test the completed configuration with the recoil spring assembly and ammunition you intend to use before relying on it for defensive, duty, or competition use.
