How to Install a NineX19 Hybrid Magwell

Installing a NineX19 Hybrid Magwell only takes a few minutes, but the installation method differs by frame family.

Use the Compact & Full-Size guide for Glock 19, 17, 34, 45, and 47 frames. Glock 43X and Glock 48 Slimline frames use a different installation method and have their own dedicated video guide below.

Check Compatibility Before Installation

Before installing your magwell, confirm that you have the correct model for your frame.

NineX19 magwell fitment follows the frame, not the slide or barrel length. Glock 19 and Glock 49 use the compact-frame magwell, while Glock 17, Glock 34, Glock 45, and Glock 47 use the full-size-frame magwell. The Glock 19X is not currently supported because its frame-base and lanyard-loop arrangement affects magwell fitment. NineX19

Stippled Frames

Aftermarket stippling can change the dimensions or surface profile of the lower grip where the magwell interfaces with the frame.

Any stippling present may render the magwell incompatible, even when the underlying Glock model would normally be supported. Do not force the magwell onto a modified frame.

Common Questions About NineX19 Hybrid Magwell Installation

What tools do I need to install a NineX19 Hybrid Magwell?

You only need the included 3/32-inch Allen key. No additional tools are required for normal installation.

Do I need to disassemble the pistol to install the magwell?

No. The NineX19 Hybrid Magwell installs directly onto the bottom of the grip using its rear set-screw mounting system.

The pistol should still be unloaded and cleared before beginning installation.

Which way should I turn the set screw before installing the magwell?

Before installing the magwell, turn the rear set screw inward until it stops. This retracts the screw and provides the clearance necessary to seat the magwell on the frame.

Once the magwell is installed, back the screw outward until it is flush with the rear of the frame.

How tight should the Hybrid Magwell set screw be?

The set screw does not need to be torqued down.

Before installation, run it inward until it stops. After the magwell is seated, back it outward until it is flush with the rear of the frame and the magwell is held securely in place.

How do I know when the magwell is installed correctly?

The magwell should sit fully against the bottom of the grip without noticeable movement.

The rear set screw should be flush with the frame, and an empty magazine should insert, seat, and release normally.

Why won’t my NineX19 Hybrid Magwell fit onto the frame?

First, confirm that the rear set screw has been turned fully inward. A protruding set screw can prevent the magwell from seating.

Next, verify that you have the correct magwell for your frame. Magwell fitment follows the frame rather than the slide length. Glock 19 and Glock 49 use the compact-frame version, while Glock 17, Glock 34, Glock 45, and Glock 47 use the full-size-frame version. NineX19

Aftermarket frame modifications can also affect fitment. Any stippling present may render the magwell incompatible.

Will a NineX19 Hybrid Magwell fit a stippled Glock frame?

Not necessarily.

Aftermarket stippling can remove, reshape, or alter material around the lower grip where the magwell interfaces with the frame. Depending on the stippling work, the dimensions may no longer match the original frame closely enough for proper magwell fitment.

Any stippling present may render the magwell incompatible. Do not force the magwell onto a modified frame.

Does a Glock 19 use the same magwell as a Glock 17?

No.

The Glock 19 uses the NineX19 compact-frame Hybrid Magwell, while the Glock 17 uses the full-size Hybrid Magwell.

The Glock 49 also uses the compact-frame version. Glock 34, Glock 45, and Glock 47 use the full-size version. NineX19

For a complete explanation of Glock frame sizes and crossover models, see Glock 19 vs. Glock 17: Frame Sizes, Crossover Models & Fitment.

What magwell fits a Glock 45?

The Glock 45 uses the NineX19 full-size Hybrid Magwell for Glock 17, 34, 45, and 47.

Although the Glock 45 uses a Glock 19-length upper, it has a full-size grip. Magwell selection follows the frame, not the slide or barrel length. NineX19

What magwell fits a Glock 47?

The Glock 47 uses the NineX19 full-size Hybrid Magwell for Glock 17, 34, 45, and 47.

The Glock 47 and Glock 45 use the same full-size frame arrangement, even though their upper assemblies differ. NineX19

What magwell fits a Glock 49?

The Glock 49 uses the Glock 19 Gen 5 compact-frame Hybrid Magwell.

The Glock 49 has a Glock 17-length upper but uses a compact Glock 19 frame, so magwell fitment follows the compact frame. NineX19

Will the NineX19 Hybrid Magwell fit a Glock 19X?

No. The current NineX19 Hybrid Magwell does not support the Glock 19X.

The Glock 19X has an integral lanyard-loop/frame-base arrangement that changes magwell fitment compared with the Glock 45 and other supported full-size frames. NineX19

Can I still use factory magazines after installing the magwell?

Yes, provided the magazine configuration is compatible with the pistol and magwell.

After installation, insert and remove several empty magazines to confirm that they seat and release normally before returning the pistol to service.

What should I do if the magwell still moves after installation?

Confirm that the magwell is fully seated and that the rear set screw has been backed outward to its correct final position.

Do not continue tightening or force the magwell in an attempt to correct an apparent fitment problem. If the magwell still moves or does not appear to fit correctly, contact NineX19 before proceeding.
